What shipped on MOS4.

Public release notes for the MOS4 operating system — follow new capabilities and changes as they land on-device, release by release.

About this changelog

Two changelogs — two different things.

This page tracks MOS4 OS product releases — capabilities, micro service updates, and changes that ship on connected devices. It is distinct from the CHANGELOG.adoc at the root of this website's repository, which tracks changes to the marketing site itself (pages, design system, i18n infrastructure).

The full engineering release notes — interface diffs, crate versions, OTA compatibility windows — are available to registered customers. Contact engineering to request access.

Release history

Recent changes.

  • 2026-06-04 Added

Connect to a device on your network with zero setup — devices announce themselves locally, and a single command, with an optional local web view, finds and attaches to one without typing an address.

  • 2026-06-04 Added

Vehicle connections are continuous — the device establishes and maintains the OBD link on its own and reports its status, so trip data keeps flowing without manual intervention.

  • 2026-06-03 Changed

Components on the same device call each other with well under 10 microseconds of overhead — co-located services communicate directly, no serialization in the path.

  • 2026-06-03 Added

Monitor your whole fleet in one place — logs, performance profiles, and ready-made dashboards for every device, built in.

  • 2026-06-03 Added

Bring your own containerized apps and monitor them right alongside everything else on the device.

  • 2026-06-03 Added

Richer built-in device metrics out of the box — see what each service is doing, with no extra instrumentation.

  • 2026-06-02 Added

Devices that fix themselves — unhealthy services are restarted automatically, and the device reboots on its own if the problem doesn't clear.

  • 2026-06-01 Added

Develop and test without a vehicle — a built-in simulator drives real routes on a map, replays GNSS and motion itineraries, models vehicle and fuel-consumption profiles, and previews device pose in 3-D, all emitting the same signals your application sees from real hardware.

  • 2026-06-01 Added

Change a device setting and it applies instantly — no reboot, no downtime.

  • 2026-06-01 Added

Smarter cameras at the edge — devices detect objects in real time directly on their built-in GPU and AI accelerator, with no cloud round-trip.

  • 2026-06-01 Added

MOS4 now has a public product changelog — follow what ships on your devices, release by release.

  • 2026-06-01 Added

Control your vehicle over Bluetooth — lock, unlock, and check status with secure token-signed commands, even waking the device from sleep.
